3 years of pain ended in 4 hours. Ukrainian patient found healing at Egekent!
The 75-year-old Ukrainian patient regained her health at Private Egekent Hospital after an operation that relieved her of 4 diagnosed conditions, which had caused her severe back pain for a long time.
Valentina Barbınova (75), who lives in Marmaris, Muğla, had been experiencing severe back pain, groin pain, and numbness in her legs for a long time. After visiting many doctors without finding a solution, Barbınova applied to Brain and Neurosurgery Specialist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Memduh Kerman at Private Egekent Hospital upon recommendation. Following examinations, she was diagnosed with 4 conditions: herniated disc, spondylolisthesis, spinal stenosis, and scoliosis. After a one-hour surgery in which 10 plates were placed in her spine, Barbınova regained her health and was able to stand up, saying: “I am fine, thank you very much.”
“Stood up the day after surgery”
Ahmet Durakçı, who shared that his mother-in-law was relieved of her long-standing troubles thanks to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Memduh Kerman, said: “I know it was a very good and very successful operation. I saw here that Mr. Memduh had great success and experience. My mother-in-law started to stand up and walk the day after the surgery. Now it’s our third day and she has no pain at all.”
“My mother recovered very quickly”
Yulya Barbınova, who expressed her joy at her mother regaining her health, said: “I used to be very sad for my mother. She had a lot of difficulty walking, she had pain in her back. Now we are very happy because my mother is recovering quickly.”
“Early diagnosis and intervention are very important”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Memduh Kerman, who stated that the surgery was very successful, said: “Our patient had a grade 2 slippage. Such patients feel the need to sit down after walking, and they suffer from burning and numbness in their legs. It is a condition we frequently encounter at older ages. In our patient’s MRI images, there were stenoses in the spine resembling sausage links. When we relieve these stenoses in such patients, they benefit greatly. Despite being 75 years old, she underwent a 3.5-hour surgery. By the 3rd day, she reached the point of going home and her leg pain eased. At the same time, walking ability in such patients improves day by day. However, if intervention is delayed, nerve damage occurs, and the desired satisfaction cannot be achieved. That is why early diagnosis and intervention are of great importance.”
