In a seminar organized in collaboration between Denizli Private Egekent Hospital and Merkezefendi Municipality, women were informed about ‘cervical cancer and urinary incontinence.’
The joint project “Accurate Information for a Healthy Life,” initiated by Private Egekent Hospital and Merkezefendi Municipality, provided women the opportunity to learn about common health conditions. As part of the project, a seminar was held with the participation of Egekent Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist Op. Dr. Suna Yazıcı, which attracted wide attendance.
At the event held at Merkezefendi Municipality Şemikler Social Facility, Op. Dr. Suna Yazıcı gave general information to participants about female genital tract cancers and urinary incontinence. She highlighted the causes and symptoms of cervical cancer, explaining how it is diagnosed and treated.
Attention to symptoms
Op. Dr. Suna Yazıcı warned attendees about paying attention to symptoms, saying: “Sometimes the symptoms may be overlooked, and the condition can progress to its final stage. That’s why it is very important to consult a specialist as soon as the first symptoms appear. The first step in prevention is knowing that this is a preventable type of cancer and undergoing regular screenings. Therefore, it is crucial to be careful, get regular check-ups, and follow necessary treatments.”
The seminar continued with participants’ questions, where Op. Dr. Yazıcı also explained what can be done to prevent cervical cancer and urinary incontinence. The pleasant event concluded with Merkezefendi Municipality presenting flowers to Op. Dr. Suna Yazıcı, followed by a photo session.
