Following a brain hemorrhage in Denizli, the brain death of a 65-year-old male patient occurred, and his liver and two kidneys were harvested at Private Egekent Hospital for organ transplantation.

C.K., who was admitted to Private Egekent Hospital on April 1 with a diagnosis of brain hemorrhage, fought for his life in intensive care for three days. However, despite all interventions, the patient’s brain death was declared.

Private Egekent Hospital’s Chief Physician, Anesthesiology and Reanimation Specialist Dr. Gökhan Peker, stated in front of the organ transplant unit that the patient, who was admitted to their hospital on April 1, 2020 with a diagnosis of brain hemorrhage and declared brain dead on April 4, had his organs donated by his family.

The operation was successfully carried out

The surgical team of Private Egekent Hospital, along with teams from Izmir, began the organ retrieval operation at around 3:00 a.m. and continued until the morning hours. In the successful operation, the liver and kidneys of 65-year-old C.K. were removed and transferred to Izmir to give hope to new patients.
