Neurosurgery Specialist Op. Dr. Bilal Kılıçarslan warned citizens who go on vacation with the start of the season and try to cool off in the sea, lakes, ponds, dams, rivers, and irrigation canals. Op. Dr. Bilal Kılıçarslan said, “The shallow nature of the water may seem like a safe diving environment for many people, but in fact, diving into shallow waters carries serious risks. Especially for those with insufficient knowledge and experience, diving into shallow waters can involve dangers that may lead to severe consequences such as death and paralysis.”

Drawing attention to the dangers of diving into shallow water, Op. Dr. Bilal Kılıçarslan said, “Shallow waters can often be filled with rocks and sharp objects. During an unconscious dive, hitting a rock or object underwater can cause serious injuries or paralysis. Unlike deep waters, the quality and clarity of the surface water in shallow waters can also affect diving safety. Diving in murky or polluted water can make it difficult to see underwater hazards and may lead to accidents.”
