Denizli Private Egekent Hospital informed about ‘Healthy Growth in Children’
In the seminar organized in cooperation with Denizli Private Egekent Hospital and Merkezefendi Municipality, mothers and expectant mothers were informed about “Healthy Growth in Children.” Pediatrician Dr. Yavuz Selim Güler shared details that families should pay attention to regarding nutrition during the summer period.
The “Right Information for a Healthy Life” project, jointly carried out by Private Egekent Hospital and Merkezefendi Municipality, provided mothers and expectant mothers with the opportunity to learn about healthy growth in children and babies. As part of the project, a seminar was held with the participation of Egekent Hospital Pediatrician Dr. Yavuz Selim Güler.
At the seminar held at Merkezefendi Municipality Sevindik Women and Children’s Life Center, Egekent Hospital Pediatrician Dr. Yavuz Selim Güler gave general information to the participants about growth and monitoring in babies, childhood vaccinations, and emphasized the importance of sleep and toilet training. He also addressed the points to be considered in the nutrition of infants and children.
Points to pay attention to for babies and children during the summer period
Warning families about the issues they should pay attention to during the summer period, Dr. Yavuz Selim Güler said, “During the summer, it is not appropriate for infants and children to be exposed to the sun for long periods, especially between 10 am and 4 pm. Sunscreen should be used before going out in the sun. However, we do not recommend using sunscreen before 6 months.” Addressing the issue of when babies can go into the sea, Dr. Güler said, “One of the most frequently asked questions by families is when they can take their babies into the sea. It is not appropriate to take babies into the sea before the 2nd month.”
Continuing with the participants’ questions, Dr. Yavuz Selim Güler warned that doctor check-ups should not be neglected for the monitoring of healthy growth and development. After the enjoyable seminar, the program ended with Dr. Yavuz Selim Güler being presented with flowers by Merkezefendi Municipality and a photo session.
