In the light of these findings, the nature and course of the condition are assessed and a suitable treatment approach is determined.
Surgical and Non-surgical Approaches
Each patient's treatment may differ according to the type and course of the condition. In some cases non-surgical methods such as medication and physiotherapy are sufficient, while in others surgery may be required.
The treatment decision is made jointly by the doctor and the patient after a detailed assessment; the patient is kept informed and involved in the decision throughout.
