The Pulmonology department deals with the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of conditions affecting the lungs and airways.
Acute and chronic conditions that affect breathing are assessed in our department, with the aim of supporting patients' quality of life.
Respiratory Conditions
Asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, bronchitis and sleep apnoea are among the conditions most frequently assessed in the pulmonology department.
Appropriate investigations are planned in the light of the patient's history and examination findings.
Common Symptoms
Some of the symptoms most frequently seen in the pulmonology clinic are:
- A cough that lasts a long time
- Shortness of breath
- Chest pain
- Producing phlegm
- Wheezing
Diagnostic Methods
Pulmonary function tests, chest X-rays and, where necessary, imaging methods such as computed tomography are used in assessing respiratory conditions.
Once a diagnosis has been made, a treatment plan is drawn up for the patient and regular follow-up is recommended.
